Default Re-sleeved blocks?

Did they solve the problem with the sleeves moving in the Darton blocks?
I'm thinking of moving up to a 427cid either later this year or next year and the Darton block is less than half the $$$ than a C5R block. I was looking into getting one from MTI or any of the well know sponsors. Please post your experience with the re-sleeved blocks. I know about the problems when you first came out. I'm just curious to see if they resolved the issues. Thanks,Den

The only problem I have heard of was with the dry sleeved blocks. Not the darton wet sleeved blocks. There was an initial problem with the Darton stuff but it was remedied pretty quick.

I had a problem with my setup, but it was the crappy gaskets used, NOT the actual block. There are plenty of special requirements for a aresleeved block as well. Stat, pump, coolant, air temp and so on.

The best guy to resleve LS1's is Charlie Weston from Weston machine. He is a fanatic. He does all the cam bores in the Pro Stock engines. Piscataway,NJ Not cheap but the best.

I would say go with Steve from Race Engine Development. He's the co-inventor of the sleeves. Nobody is more qualified to re-sleeve an LS1 block than Steve.

Ditto, Steve did my original install and now my bore cleanup. NOBODY has done as much for me as Steve has. Great Guy and seems genuine.
