I had been avoiding removing EGR for a long time, but I kept reading and thinking about some of my many problems, so I removed it. The problem is that with my Hotcam I was getting too much exhaust gas. Because the cam casues reversion (it's own EGR), plus the EGR wants to dump even more exhaust gas in there, I was way down on power. It was making me run lean down low, probably hotter than I needed to be, and now that it is gone...nice SOTP increase (yeah, yeah, butt-o-meter). I just wanted to share because if you search for EGR removal there are some posts that say don't do it. It should say don't do it, unless you have a cam.
