Default Best High Flow Oil Pump vendor?

Am going to purchase a high flow oil pump.

Anyone have a rec for best vendor/product?
Are they all the same? Mild porting + a spring shim?

I think my MTI bearing clearance is a bit loose and would like to see more pressure.

TIA!

I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket higher volume pump.

I know vendors will port the inlet of the stock pumps or a neglible increase in volume however I feel the greater increase in PSI is due to the vendors who also SHIM the relief valve spring.

Someone mentioned that Melling was making an oil pump for the LSX powerplant however I haven't seen any info on it, yet.

Shimming the relief spring will only increase peak pressure and will do nothing below 65-70 psi. It will not allow more volume, which is what you need to keep the pressure up. I'd try running some thicker oil like a 10W40, maybe a little heavier.

Thx. Was thinking same thing.

Switching to 10W40 this week.

May go up to 50W if needed.

Havent seen a high flow pump either, only the ported ones. My TSP one gets up to 80psi at WOT though.

I did a search and I came up with the part #m295. I found it at summit for 87.99 not too bad at all. Here's the link to it.

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...ch%2Easp&N=100

just select melling from the manufactures list and part number M295.
