crap thats a lot of money but worth it. i have the standard spring compressor but im sure it will be a bitch to do

Yeah it's a lot of money, but frustration is worth quite a bit too. For your cam, you shouldn't need to change springs, but for someone that's changing them all the time, it would for sure be worth it. I have a few machine tools and I'm thinking of making my own compressor similar to this one. After they see a few people are doing that, maybe they will come up with a more fair price.

Default Parts needed for cam swap

Just to double check.. Im doing the LS6 swap

Gasket kit
Stock legnth hardened pushrods
2002 ls6 valve springs
2002 ls6 valve spring shims
2002 ls6 cam

stock retainers
stock stopers

what am i missing, any suggestions?

Yes, you need this tool from Thunder Racing so you can get to the springs in the back under the cowl:
