Question Another Cam Question?

What do you guys think of this cam?

XR265HR - Hydraulic roller - Great LS6 replacement camshaft. Very wide power range, good drivability and excellent responce. Operating range: 1400 to 6700 - Cam specs: 212/218 @.050 - .558/.563 w 1.7 rocker - 115 LSA

I will also be adding Kooks headers, LS6 intake and ASP pulley...basically I am looking to run low 12's, I am currently running 13.0's very consistantly at 107 with these mods. SLP LM, cracked Whisper Lid, BMR LCA's, MAF ends, and Nittos. I am looking for excellent drivability and good power...I am not concerned about dyno numbers, just track numbers.

Thanks
RD

its a small stealth cam... i think u could go bigger, how about a TR220/114? u say good drivability, do u mean a stock like idle? or just a good running cam? any cam can be tuned to have good drivability... if u don't mind a rough or lopey idle, u could go a lot bigger, maybe a TR224, or TSP225...

you dont need the cam to hit 12's, just the headers, intake and pulley should get you there. also, what tranny, if A4 a good stall will get you into the 12's as is.

as far as the cam, i agree w/ Matt. you can go bigger, and run faster, and still maintain excellent drivability.

I am looking for a stealthy cam, excellent drivability, without the rough idle...I have one of those cars already (older Z28), and I am looking for something that does not require a lot of tuning to get it right...I do have an M6 for a tranny
I forget where I seen this other cam I think that it's called stealth II cam, and I think that MTI makes it, do you think that would be a better choice than the XR265??

Thanks guys

i would try MTI's SS1 cam, its a 220-.581-115... the SS2 cam is a reverse split cam, 224/220-.581/.581-116... should be real smooth with the 116lsa, and scream on the top end...

How often am I going to have to change springs with a .581 lift? Every 50K or so, or is it going to be every 20K? I don't want to be doing that, my other Z28 I have to change the springs very often, but the cam in that car is pretty wild also 298 - 303 dur. .613int .622exh with a 106 LSA...
Yet another cam to choose from, thanks guys I appreciate the feedback

I'm using that cam now. Look in sig. It was good for 4/10 improvement for me. Wil be for sale in a week if interested.Has less than 3000 miles on it.still have box and invoice. I don't drive the vet often so I'm stepping up to something a little nastier to get into the 11's. pm me.
