Internal Gurus Please Help Asap..
i just pulled my intake and heads so that i could investigate my little ticking sound that came about around 100 miles after my head/cam(231/237) swap and it got slightly louder. heres my concern...after 5000 miles i now have some slightly visible scuff marks on my lifters...nothing you can really feel(i felt a few tiny places on two of the lifters when i scraped em with my fingernail) and it doesnt seem major..but im swapping them all out for comps just for good measure. i also had some light spots on my pistons...i imagine they were a whitish color, but when i pulled the head the collant got on em and i guess now the spots are kinda rust colored...is this detonation?, because the bores look sweet..i can still see all the factory machine marks and stuff..im just woriied about putting it back together like this..thanks
