Default So...I think it's time for another cam discussion...and heads...

I was doing some looking at cam specs because I am wondering if the TR224-114 is the right cam for my perticular setup. I dont want to rev to 6600 to make power. I have a Midwest 3500 stall that drops the shift rpm to ~4000 or so on the shifts. The rpm range I would like, then, is 4,000-6,200.

I was reading about "crippled" intakes and restricted exhaust and how the duration on I and E should be reversed...split...notmal...blah blah...

Anyhow, why doesn't anybody only port the exhaust side of the head, maybe go a little bigger valve, then match the cam to them since the I:E flow percentage would be better than 75% or whatever it is on a fully ported set of heads. Wouldn't that make sense? I believe the member named NoseUp brought up this point...

Then wouldnt a cam like the 224/224 work better?

My major mods are in the sig.
