oil leak on oil pan

Re: oil leak on oil pan
Unfortunately those threads are in the rear engine cover and probably either the tranny or k-member has to be pulled in order to get to them unless the engine is out of the car.
Yes, those rear bolts can become real trouble if you are not careful with the torque spec, guess how I know.

I thought I was being soooo careful following all the torque specs, but they call those bolts something different than "oil pan bolts" in the manual!
Well, after "just one more turn" SNAP!!!
Anyhow, I have been running my car for a few thousand miles with one bolt missing, and it is bone dry... thank goodness....

oil leak on oil pan
I replace some of the oil pan bolts but there is 1 bolt( last two bolts closest to the tranny) that is detreaded(I blame a mechanic) It leaks dots of oil What's the best thing to do: Get a new oil pan or make a new tread putting a bigger tread on that hole. I hate oil leaks so any suggestion well appreciated.ThAnX
