I would guess cold since their is more oxygen in the air and that promotes a cleaner burn....just a guess, however.....
My car has failed the sniffer test two years running.... next year NYS will switch to the OBD computer test..... I can't be more happy ...now if I could only pass this year...
I hope cold is the correct answer since it is winter in NY....

Well, Im going to try and get it pre-tested. Im going to run my tune real lean, bump up fan temps, retard the timing, and heat her up real good before I take her in. Also, the gas I use contains ethanol, but should I add some more?
Oh, and robertbartsch - if youre in NYMA, then our inspection stations should switch over apr 1, 2005.
Thanks,

take out your air filter too. i took a guys out at work and let some wind blow in there and that got it to pass, every little bit helps. also make sure u have fresh oil in the car too. what cam do you have? and what about the rest of your exhaust. do you know the limits on CO and hell i forget the others now...mine passed with no cats and LT's. also running a top end cleaner can help knock down the numbers too
