Default no chargin???

Recently started having probs with battery. I Have underdrive crank pulley but left alternator alone. I am going to get an overdrive alternator pulley. However the past couple of days I can start car drive around fine, but watch amperage of alternator and wham! drops way down. Do you think I have a bad alternator? I thought with bad alternator car won't drive. I'll check that wire that goes to alternator. Maybe it is that. Anyone got any good writeups on how to swap alternator? Could computer tuning affect your charging system at all? I don't think so but not sure. Opinions please.

No, tuning has nothing to do with charging. The internal voltage regulator may be going bad inside the alt. The alt. is easy to change. Its only 3 bolts

Country, I didn't want to go into detail, but first time I pulled alternator, I didn't know about that plug in type wire on top and I broke the wire. I wired a new one in, and wasn't sure if it was a bad wiring job. Maybe wire melted through or something. Where is the internal voltage regulator?

Its inside the altinator (sp!?). No changing it.. have to replace whole deal. Do your lights pulse? Check your wiring to be sure.

haven't noticed that, but my interior lights go dim when battery is dieing down, but if I push on gas, they brighten back up.
