Default very streetable ls1 cam?

hi guys,

my dad and i are preparing to put a ls1 out of a 98 z-28 in my 69 camaro over the spring. it'd be a shame to drop this motor in w/o putting a cam in it. i want to be able to drive this car every day, and still get decent mileage. what kind of cams are you guys suggesting? could i get full names of the brands of the cams so i can look up the companies? btw, a T-56 is going in it, and the motor is bone stock. thanks in advance for the help you guys, and sorry for asking a repetitive question.

Thunder Racing 224/224 is a good all around cam. A little lope, but very streetable. Texas Speed 225/225 is pretty similar. MTI has some great stealth cams that are a little smaller but still make some good power. Futral Motor Sports also has some great cams. These companies are all sponsors and can be found on the right ---->
Do some searching here, and look at what the sponsors have to offer. Personally if it were me i would put a big cam in that engine, just because it's going in a '69.

Man that sounds like an exciting project. I wish my dad was that cool when I was young. However my father-in-law and I are going to build a Shelby Cobra one of these days.

Back on topic...here is a graph that might help.

We carry the "Dominator" series of cams and our series 1 cam is very streetable. It is 218/224/114. It made 384rwhp / 378 rwtq on a 2002 SS. We have a 224/228/114 Series 2 cam that is still very streetable. Both have very wide power bands and great street manors. We can also custom grind a cam for you.

Here's a link to our cam kits: http://www.rapidmotorsports.com/mode...=1&intYearId=3

That graph needs to be redone! Someone extend it towards the bottom. Push it down to 240.

MTI B1 cam, no tuning really to speak of.
