Cam swap question??
When swaping out a cam I have heard that its possible to change without removing the heads. You spin the cam 3-4 times before removing it and the lifters are held up by clips. Then you simply pull the cam out and put the new one in, after greasing it of course.
Then after the new cam is fully in and everything is being put back together the pushrods when installed will push the lifters back down to make contact with the cam.
Can someone please tell me if this is correct because it has been killing me???

Re: Cam swap question??
That is correct. However, about 5% of the times (from my personal experience) a lifter will either fall, or you'll have a lifter that wont stick up.
For this reason, its best to get a set of pen magnets through the pushrod holes to grab hold of the lifters. I have a pic of it here on my site...scroll down until you see the "magnet trick" picture.

Re: Cam swap question??
Thanks for the quick reply. I have been considering doing my cam install myself to save some extra $$$. I just finished printing your guide for LS1 to LS6 PCV conversion.
Just wanted to say. Awesome site. It is really well laid out, very nice pictures and it has helped alot. Hope you keep it around for a while.
