Cam swap- new lifters required??
If I swap the cam in my very low miles engine, do you all keep the original lifters or do you really need to buy a new set?
I hear they are really hard and wear the cam rather than the lifters wearing.
Your help is appreciated. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Your stock roller lifters don't form a wear pattern like a flat tappet lifter, therefore, no need to replace the lifters or perform a formal 2,000 rpm break-in procedure. Don't need any special cam lube on the lobes either. Just regular engine oil. Make sure you clean the new cam up real good with brake cleaner or solvent before oiling it up and slipping it in the engine.

Ron,
Thanks for your help.
I had a feeling that was the case, and it's good to have it confirmed.
