Default Rear Crank Seal Install ?

I need your input on how to install the REAR CRANK SEAL without messing up. The seal has two angles of rubbers on the seal.
THANKS, JIM

You install it so that it is easy to slide over the crank snout- the side of the seal that is solid should face into the motor.

From factory the solid side faces out...not towards the motor and it's a pain in the *** to put in. Lube it and the crank with plenty of oil. Work the seal with you fingers for a few min. Try to soften it up a bit.

Well that sucks. Just about as much as the factory manual sucks which doesn't show an illustration. And sucks about as much as buying an LS1 swap that came from the seller who secretly included the "rear seal missing" option.
I got a very snug fit on the crank so hopefully it works when installed the wrong way.
