Default head porting.....questions

is 500 dollars a good price to have a set of stock LS1 heads installed......? i know of a shop that will do it for that price and i am thinking about it to get some extra power with my current setup. thanks for any suggestions or help.

btw, was just talkin to a friend and he brought up a good point. my car is a 98...what kind of gains could be had with a stock cam and an LS6 intake? i have bolt ons and before i do(if i do) port the heads i will have longtubes also.

500 for just a head install or for port work and install? an ls6 intake will be worth ~10rwhp on your setup.

leave the heads alone they flow better then you think ,cam ,intake,SLP longtubes will make better power.
