Default How thick of a head gasket should I run for proper quench? opinions needed

Well I got the bottom end together (348, eagle H beams, Mahle pistons) and I'm ready to bolt the heads on. I wanted to get your guys opinions on how thick of a head gasket to run for proper quench. My pistons are out of the hole .011". I have .051 cometics now but I'm not sure if I should get the .045s or not. I will have .040 for quench if I use what I have and .034 if I use the .045s.

What do you guys think?

Thanks
Frank

Use the ones you have. .040" is a good safe quench. Average is .035-.040, so you'll be just fine with what you have.

what about once the engine warm up and the block grows. Will it be too much then? I think I read somewhere that it grows .003 - .005 so that would put me between .043 and .045 once i'm up to operating temps. Or does everyone just go by cold quench numbers?
