LS2 pans-better or just cheap?

LS2 pans-better or just cheap? Got some pans the other day and I'm a tad dissapointed with them. Are they really better then the 02 vette or just cheaper to make? Are the claims hype. I'm surprised GM didn't fit some one way trap doors around the pick up, that would have been simple enough.
