Default best cam for daily driver 00 SS m6

I just got my 00 ss.it has slp headers and loudmouth exhaust, whisper lid.slp frame connectors,k&n filter and spohn suspension components. What's a good daily driver cam with ***!My plan is to replace cam, chain, springs, pushrods and oil pump(maybe). The previos owner said it made 335 to the rear.A nice lope with 20-30 usable hp would be cool.I saw a comp cams 224/224/ 581/581 lsa 114.That seems like alot of lift since i think stock is 497 or so.All info is appericiated very much!!
Oh yeah,it also has a hypertech III tuner and SPEC clutch
Is it worth adding the slp mafs?

224/224 is a very "streetable" cam...but thats also a relative term. Do a search and listen to cars of people in your area to figure out what you really want.

Yeah 224 is a great cam, but skip the SLP MAF, that will just create new problems.

Don't get the SLP MAFs. They won't give you any real power gains unless you're running a FAST 90/90 setup and turning some rpm. Save your money for tuning. You'll need it as the HPP3 is going to limit you to only running a very small cam (and keep good street manners).

Use the Thunder Racing Cam 224/224, 112lsa, .563 lift, it will be less noisy than the higher lift cam you mentioned. Buy new Comp Cams 918 springs and Comp Cams stock length pushrods. Your stock oil pump should be OK. Keep your stock MAF and maybe polish your throttle body. Thunder offers package deals.

b/c the tables don't match the stock tables, despite what many say. since the tables are out of line, and the PCM runs off many tables especially the MAF table, the whole tune goes to ****.

is that a better explanation?

Patrick....you got to this one before me

You will also need a 3.73 gear with that 224 cam.

Its all about the tune with the cam and you can keep good street manners. Just remember some cams call for different gear ratios in the rear so chosse accordingly.

im in the same boat as you man, i dont need 450+ rwhp on my daily driver right now, although someday i wish it wouldnt be my DD and i could max it out, but for now i'd be happy w/370-380, i have the TR 224/224 .563/.563 112 and i like it alot, i has a good powerband and isnt a huge lift cam, actually very mild compared to the cams people are using now, it lopes nicely and i can definatly feel it, no dyno tune here, although ineed one, just tuned w/hptuners, i highly recommend it, it is very streetable, i drive this car about 100miles a day and i have no problems with it at all, except the warm start (dont start it w/a/c on) and thats it

You guys are all over this one. That's exactly what I did, and I'm very happy!! Don't forget the titanium retainers.

Good advice in this thread!!
