Default anyone have used Cometics?

Does anyone have any used cometics big bore gaskets? I want to check P/V clearance with clay and dont want to compress mine if I have to remove the heads. It would be real cool if someone in SoCal had 1 or 2 so I can just pick them up.

Thanks,
David

Firstly, I believe you can safely reuse regular gaskets as long as the engine has not been fired yet.

Secondly, You can always torque the heads only to 5 ft lbs or so and not compress the head gasket. Just remember that youll need an extra .002 or .003 of clearence that will be taken up once the gasket compresses fully.
