Default Futral Cams....

I'm looking for some feedback on the Futral Cams. A friend of mine has one and I was impressed. I am looking at getting the F10 (228/228 112).

Anyone have this cam? Anyone running it with a 4000 stall?

Info!

Thank you,
Mike

edit: I should point out the time in my sig is with a 3500 stall and the TR224-114 untuned...how would the F10 and 4000 stall compare?

Ive been looking at Futral, too... I see a lot of talk about the new, bigger F#'s, like 13 and 15, but the specs on the F5-112 (224/228 .588/.576) look pretty good (Lopy w/lots of torque?), so I'm trying to decide between that and a few others... Can any one compare the F5 to anything like the TR224 (224-even .563/.563 112) or the Crane HR-216/3241 (216/224 .551/.551 LSA ?). Crane bills this a good cam for a blower, is that why it has just 216 duration at the Intake? The TR224 has a fast ramp rate, so no 1.8 rockers, but the Crane seems to be much slower (278@.004 - 216@.050 = 62), and with 1.8 rockers could increase the lift from .551 to .583. The high ramp rate sounds good, but i've read a few posts that talk about the wear the lifters from it. Any thoughts?

ive got the f10 on a 114 in a m6. its not bad. i think my car was weak from the start. I put down 377/371 tuned full bolt on except for the pulley. It was also tuned with a vaccum leak im going to upgrade to the f13 or 14 on a 112 this time. Not to mention that the customer service is bomb!!! They're all great there! hmm...let me see if i can scan my dyno graph.

if you have a 4000 stall, i wouldnt think that is the optimal cam for your setup, IMO.
call allen and talk with him... he will hook you up.

Do you have an LS6 intake? If not, thats where the other 20rwhp are hiding..

You will need a larger cam than the F-5 if you plan on having a 4000 stall. I'd get the F-14. You won't be disapointed.

My f-13 is much more tame than i imagined, otherwise I might have gone bigger. Drivability is astoundingly good with this cam.

Part of the reason I want to go with the F10 is the .575" lift as opposed to .595" on the F11 and up.

I'd like to use Comp 918s...

In reality 918's are good to .625 lift. Lots of people run them over .600 when they want to keep the valvetrain as light as possible. The seat and open pressures are not that far off from many gold springs, but they lack the certain safety factor.

Now speaking in terms of spring longevity, the lower lift may help you out a bit there.
