62k miles
my 98' T/a has 62k miles on it. and sometimes i worry if the motor is kind of worn out, like bad compression or leaking cylinders or such, or just not makin the power that it should. everyone i talk to says that an ls1 with only 62k miles on it should not be down on compression or leaking or anything. it is not running funny or rough, and there are no check engine lights on or anything, and i was told that if these cars are down on compression or anything it will throw a code if anything is not right. what do you guys think. i try not to be hard on it and floor it that much, but you guys know how it is with these cars, from time to time youve got to be hard on it, and here again, i guess these cars like being drivin ***** to the wall.......

if you have a 98 or early 99 and made it past ~50k miles your motor is gona last for a while. Some of the 98 and early 99 cars had bad oil pumps that failed around 50k miles or so. But like what was said, its people runninng nitrous on these motors with 150k + miles. My new motor has a 25k on it (oil pump failure at 58k) its a stock rebuild with rod bolts and it lives at 65-6800
