Default largest duration/lsa on milled 62cc 243 w/o flycutting?

Hello everyone, I recently came across a set of milled/ported 243's and have been contemplating what the largest guesstimate cam I could install without flycutting the pistons.

The owner of the heads has a 228/230 114lsa cam to go along as a package, but I guess you can't help but wonder if you should go bigger?

Thanks in advance

BTW:the car is an 02' ZO6 with LG LT's, GHL Magnum, Vararam 160 thermo, Spec stg3 clutch/flywheel and a hardened output shaft.....

It will also depend on the valve job.
I would guess you could go bigger but not much... Maybe a few degrees of duration.

duration is how long valve stays open, lift would be what u r worried about. has the heads been mill'd? and what eng. displacement is it going on. how thick is the head gasket ? just somthing u should check on before swapping cam.

The cam/heads will be going on a stock 346. The heads have been milled to create a 62cc chamber with stock valve in place...The cam has a 588/591 lift and the previous owner stated that flycutting was not neccessary.

I'm just trying to go with a little larger cam and not flycut......

I appreciate all the help guys

Your totally wrong. Lift has VERY little effect on PV clearence.

better to be safe than sorry correct ? You'll have the heads off anyways and it only takes about 10 mins or so per piston. goto installuniversity.com they have a write up
