Default Question on dampers with keyway

How does the oil keep from coming out of the front cover is the damper is keyed, the bolt face?

If you use an ARP bolt on a keyed crank, coat the 1/4 machined flatwasher with hi-temp silicone and 271 loctite on the threads and torque to 190#. If you use a dowel pin to secure the hub of an ATI balancer, drill hole is centered between hub and crank snout and does not protrude behind hub, but I still apply a small amount of silicone to the washer as above.

But the keyway goes the entire length of the hub. No mention of it in the ATI instructions. Does the ARP bolt come with separate instructions, or just a bolt in a bag.

If you are running a stock crank, drill and install a dowel pin to secure hub. IMO, not worth the trouble and expense to key crank unless it is already apart
