00' oil consumers?

00' oil consumers?
It seems that most of the people I know that have or had a 2000 F body, had oil consumption issues.
I am considering selling my 98 SS, and getting a WS6 vert. But the WS6 is a 2000. That concerns me. I have an LS6 intake already, so that isn't an issue.
If they are as it seems, what is the cause?
I know the manifolds for 2000 are different than the 98-99, and 01-02 due to being cast, but with EGR provision.

2000 T/A with 85K miles, and no oil (Mobil 1 5W-30 from the git-go) issues. I might need to add a quart after beating on it really hard in a given month, but that's maybe a couple times a year.

2000 M6 SS - right around 48k miles and no abnormal oil consumption issues. I usually pour in an extra quart every 2 months after daily highway driving. I attribute that to running the motor up to 6500 daily.

I think it's a bit of the luck of the draw. I, like others who have posted, have an '00 with 77K miles and it loses no oil between changes. But, I still have the rev limiter at 6200.

I had my whole engine replaced under warranty because of accesive oil consumption. 1 quart per500-600 mi. 2000 camaro. its the piston ring to cylinder wall clearance, not enough clearance, burns the oil.

I go through about 1/2 quart at most every 3-3500 miles with German Syntec with alot of 4th gear highway driving (5th and 6th pop out of gear alot). Mine also has piston slap for the first couple minutes of driving when it's cold. I have 88k miles.

My 2000 SS uses oil based on how I drive.
I discovered if I use engine braking a lot ( I love the sounds of my 4" exhaust ) I will use more oil........a quart in about 1500 miles. I read something a while back about oil blowing past rings during deccelaration.
With the price of gas................a quart of oil makes not much of of diff if you enjoy the car.

I had 2 2000, wife drove the T/A and it used oil regularly. I drove the Z-28 and it used half a quart in 5000 miles. She wrecked hers and when she started driving mine it started eating oil like it was going out of style until i banned her from driving it and it went back to normal. It has a lot to do with driving style. She had to keep the revs above 3k all the time for some reason.
