Some one with more knowledge then I...
I have been offered an ex-short track motor for a series(not sure which one)eing run. It is a 02' LS1 Corvette motor with approx. 10-12 races on it and was purchased brand new from the factory and sent directly to John Lingenfelter for a cam and tune and notheing else. Motor is running very healthy(still in the racecar) and putting some were between 450-480 hp(haven't actually seen the bulid sheet yet!!) Assuming all is fine and well what would a guy offer for this motor??? This is my problem as I really don't know what it's worth and don't have a whole lot a doe to spend !
Thanks

I assume that it is of aluminum origin? The block that is...
Is it being sold as long/short block?
There are several determining factors that are hard to calculate given the info that you have to work with too. It might be more of an accurate guess with the contents of the build sheet.

So I have the build sheet. And my inital thought's were correct. It's a 02'LS1 Corvette motor straight from GM and mod'd by lingenfelter performance. The cam spec's aren't real specfic but it's putting 468hp@6400rpmand 430ft-lb@3500(I think) It has 10 complete race's on it and run's great!!! The motor was 15k new and he want's to get over $6500 for it... This seems about normal to me for a motor this new but also seems quite high considering it is a ex-race motor. Any thought's...
