Default Buying a used cam..

I'm planning on buying a used cam to save some coin. I plan on buying it from one of the moderators here so i'm sure its fine. but say it wasnt what should i look for?

I tried the search but i guess i suck at searching hah.

Its always a good idea to ask to see some pictures and make sure you get the cam card

ok thanks. in the pictures where would the cam show extreme wear if it were damaged?

well it would be hard to see but you would want to lobs of the cam and the bearing surfaces. But just look out for overall condition does it look like it has been out of a car for a while maybe getting some surface rust of something. Just look it over good. And if they can take pictures of any casting numbers that might have been on it to show you that it is the cam they are claiming it to be

alright sounds good, thanks for the advice. i just like to be careful when buying things used.
