Stealth cam recomendations w/ GTP IIs?
Greetings and salutations.
I have a 00 6 spd vet. 3.42s. LS6 intake, long tubes, Speed Inc built bottom end. Dead cats. All the goodies.
I have TR 224 112LSA/GTP II heads, two year old combo. CC987 Dual springs, 2.02 intake. Made 409 RWHP before break in.
Want smaller cam for increased bottom end/streetability. Do not want to swap gears. I want enough lift to take advantage of my heads without going more agressive than .581 lift and an LSA of 114 or greater.
Larry at Speed Inc recomended the shop 222/222 114 .563 lift. I also plan on LS1 edit. Any opinions or recomendations?
TIA
Greg

I have the Comp 218/218 .563 114 XE cam. I got this from Speed Inc. when they offered it. Can barely tell there is a cam in the car and it is easy on springs (like the 222/222 Larry recommends). I was concerned about emissions when I bought this cam (LS1 Edit was not even out yet) and IL was still doing the Roller tests.
Comp XE ramps are easy on springs compared to the XE-R and the TR cams usually fall between the XE and XE-R as far as ramp rates (leaning more to the XE-R).
I think you will like the 222/222 as far as stealth and performance.
