Smoke coming out of oil cap when car is off
My car is burning oil bad 1 quart every 200-300 miles. When the engine is running and I pull the oil cap no smoke. When I turn the engine off and pull the cap you can see light smoke coming out. Also sometime on startup I will see smoke blowing out the tail pipe, changed the spark plugs and #2 was caked in oil! Recently changes the valve seals and no change. what can these clues tell me about where the oil is getting iint the combustion chamber?

rings are shot maybe. On one, some or all cylinders. Take the oil cap off and have someone rev it to 2,000 and hold it there, then see if you feel puffs of air coming out of the oil fill cap with the palm of your hand. If you do than compression is getting by the rings into the crankcase and it'll puff out of the oil fill cap. I remember when my rings were trashed it was like a 200mph leafblower coming out. Sure enough, all 8 cylinders were leaking down between 30-45%.
