Pushrod length and gasket thickness
Stock bottom end 04 ls1 with a 220/224 .581/.581 cam on 112LSA. Stage 2 ported stock 241 castings milled .010 to bump the compression a tick. What pushrd length woudl I need and what gasket thinkness?

no, actually it doesn't talk. Once you install all your new parts, you then use the pr checker to determine the new length. then you take a measuring device of some sort, I use a 8" digital micrometer, and measure the pr tool. you then read the new length. There may be 100 other ways to skin this cat, but there is only one way to know for sure what size push rod you need - measure it.

The amount of quench you want to run is going to determine what thickness gaskets you should use. Measure how far above the block the top of the piston is. It's probably about .010 if your block is stock. If you run a .040 thick gasket, then quench = .040 - .010 = .030. I would shoot for about .035 - .040 for a good tight quench that's a little bit conservative. After this and your milling, then you check the PR length and order the correct length.

Just to bring this back up. I have been looking at pushrods, and they all seem to use different measurement techniques. Crane uses OAL and COMP uses "Guage Length" and I am not sure what Manley uses. The only checker I could find in the range I need is the COMP, which measures directly in guage length. Needless to say, this is a tad confusing.
