Does it look like I am a dumbass for trying to rebuild this?
Save the pics to windows picture and fax viewer or something and you can zoom in for a real close look.
And yes I know the liners may be cracked, crank may be bent or cracked. I can have that all checked if needed but I don't think even thats necessary.
Just chamfer the bottom of the cylinder with a die grinder, hone them all, etc.
Oh yea, theres plenty of carbon build up in the combustion chambers, not one hint of piston to valve contact. Not to say I won't have the heads checked.

Now it would be neat to put it into my 2000 S10 in place of the 4 cylinder.
So there is no rush on building it.
I may rebuild it back to stock with Edelbrocks carb intake and ignition controller, then put a manual shift kit into the 4L60E that came with the engine. Or get a six speed.
There are some stock 2002 pistons and rods in the for sale section here for $200. I've been thinking about those.
