Default LS1 starts then all of a sudden kills itself

What would potentially cause this? OBDII scanning isnt a possibility at the moment as this is an engine swapped setup w/ out the scan port. (at the moment anyway. I do plan to get one, but my swap is ready to drive NOW, and junkyards are closed and I'm anxious )

Last night the alternator wasnt hooked up, and the primary O2 sensors werent plugged in. This is a pull out w/ the harness and stock ecu so it should be identical to an LS1 in an 00 camaro. The engine will fire up, sound very strong, and then die very shortly afterwards, just kind of cut out. What are the sensors, ect that an LS1 absolutely HAS to have to run. (or the sensors that an LS1 will kill itself if it doesnt have?)

Thanks

VATS maybe? Does it make any weird noises, or does it just shut off?
