Raising rev limit to 6.5 or 7k?
If I wanted to raise the rev limit, what would be required? Assuming I wanted to keep a stock bottom end and not spray/boost, what is the max the rotating assembly can take and/or the valvetrain? What would need replacing?

There is no point in upping it w/ stock valvetrain. No power would be made up there. With proper valvetrain upgrades along with a cam, there are plenty of guys pushing it past 6500. Ill let them chime in w/ the details. Personally I'm going to try to find a cam that peaks at about 6300 and then shift at no more than 6500 for longevity and peace of mind.

you will need to change the springs and retainers. As said above there is little to be gained with the stock cam but with a cam upgrade you will need to change the springs anyhow. Mine is set @ 6.5k and I am using a TSP 224R with patriot gold springs.

Here's my setup...TR230, ported heads, comp 918's, titanium retainers, TR hardened 7.4's, stock lifters/rockers/valves, TR ported LS6 pump, double roller chain, ARP rod bolts, stock crank, stock rods, and stock pistons. I spin it to the 6600 shift light and shift about 6750 with the limiter set at 7k. Needless to say it revs to the 7k limit VERY easily... no problems yet.
