Question Proper lifter orientation

When installing new lifters, should they be oriented with the oil hole on the side of the body oriented/pointing towards the intake ports or towards the exhaust ports?

I don't think it matters since the holes are in different locations with each lifter manufacturer.

It doesn't matter with stock lifters, or the comp replacements. If you get into solid lifters and what not it matters.
