Default LS7 Crank in a Cast Iron 6.0

Has anyone considered putting the GM 4.0" LS7 Crank in an LS1/LS6/LQ4/LQ9? I'm wondering about this crank with a 24X reluctor wheel installed in place of the 58X. I'd probably need to investigate rods and rod/main bearings, because I think that the LS7 crank lacks the .125" radius on the main rod journals.

My objective is more displacement and keeping the cost of a stroker down on my daily driver truck.

Thanks,

Steve

there are a LOT of things you can do without worrying about a stroker to make a lot more power for your truck. the cam you have could be changed out for something more powerful, the heads i'm sure are leaving a lot on the table (ported cast iron isn't going to make the power of a ported LS6 head or other LSX head) also you could definatly use a torque converter if you don't have one already (don't see one in your sig)

Rick - Thanks. I didn't realize that the crank snout would be longer, but with the two chamber oil pump for the dry sump, I can see that.

Skipperbisket, I also own a 212/218 cam that I've run in the truck. It makes 20 more HP and 25 less pounds feet of torque. That cam is excellent for passing on the highway, etc. but it won't pull out of the hole nearly like my 200/206. This is a 3/4 ton Yukon XL 4X4 (6,700 pounds) and I tow a travel trailer that weighs 8,600 pounds. I can't sacrifice low end torque for higher end HP.

Thanks for both of your responses.

Steve
