Default Pushrod/Rocker install ?

Just installed cam,new lifter, lifter trays, installed heads....

Was installing pushrods and rockers, I loosened up one rocker to slightly adjust it, I noticed that I was able to slightly compress the p-rod by hand and it would spring back up. Didn't seem springy until I torqued it down and then loosened back up. None of the others seemed this way, but they hadn't had rockers intalled on them yet.

Should I worry?, I'd hate to have to pull the head! Or can I continue with the install?

I just turned over the motor a few times, took off that rocker... p-rod still was springy. So I pulled one off the other side, it was now springy too.

So I'm assuming this is normal once rockers have been intalled and properly seated in the lifter.

New lifters that weren't pressurized will depress with little load on them, I think based on your description you are just compressing the internal piston that sits on a spring in the bottom of the lifter. It sound normal to me. The lifters will be very noisy when you start it to, and will likely take several minutes to pump up and quiet down.

Thanks... that's pretty much the conclusion that I came to, I figured the lifters haven't been "pumped up" yet.

I certainly appreciate the second opinion . !!
