Default ls1 to 408?

I dont really know where to go w/this question but, as far as swapping out my ls1 for a 408, how streetable is a 408? WOuld you recommend it? If not, what size motor would you suggest swapping within reason(money)?

The size of the motor doesn't determine streetability. You are looking at what goes inside the motor. Give us reasons, what you are wanting, kind of power, streetability, etc...You can get a 427 and it could drive smoother than stock if you put your stock cam in there. Give us more info.

absolutely streetable. i swapped my ls1 in my 98 to a HPE bult 408 stroker. fast as hell and driveable...just need a new torque converter to be a nice ride. i suggest no lower then 3200 stall
