Default Crane Dual Springs

I was looking at the possibility of buying Crane springs instead of 921's but I first wanted to hear opinions on them as they don't seem to be a popular brand for f-bodies.
The only thing I could find in doing a search is that the springs need to be shimmed .030 to increase spring pressure and avoid valve float. Anymore info is appreciated.

I just had cranes on my stock heads and they seem to work just fine. I did not even shim them. I did'nt know better at the time. I had zero issues with vavle float.

They are now for sale if you decide to go with them. PM me. I will cut you a good price on them.

Any spring needs to be shimmed depending on what you are looking for with regards to seat and open pressure values. Just using a 0.030 shim is not the answer, you need to evaluate the spring requirements for the cam you are running. The Crane springs are excellent spring, but as with any spring, they must be setup correctly. Do yourself a favor, but a spring height micrometer, a set of shims (0.060, 0.030 and 0.015 - 16 each in the kit made by Comp) and set up your springs correctly so the seat pressure match.

I ran the duals for almost 16.5k miles on a 224/0.581" cam with no problems. Didn't measure them after taking off, but the still looked damn good.
