Default Interesting discovery (funny but strange)

Okay, I'm working on a third gen ls1/t56 combo. Right now the car is stripped and gutted to the bare chassis awaiting mediablasting. Basically I'm collecting parts as I get money. Well I've been sitting on this LS1 for about a year now, and the guy I got it from sat on it for at least 5 years. It's out of a 99 trans am and judging by my discoveries upon teardown it has almost no miles on it. Anyway, I was origionally going to leave the exhaust manifolds on it and leave it like that, but decided yesterday that I'm going to make my own headers for it. So I started today to put my valve springs and cam in, and start measuring for the headers. I take off one exhaust manifold and notice something in the exhaust ports of the head. Looked kinda like a cheesy poof but smaller. So I start popping this stuff out with a screwdriver. As the different shapes start falling out I realized...it was CAT FOOD!!!!! I didn't know whether to worry about the valves and seats or roll in the floor laughing!! I guess a mouse or rat at some point over the years was "storing" cat food in the exhaust ports of the head. Crazy!!!

I store my racebikes in a pole barn over the long Minnesota winters. When I fired up
one of them in the spring it ran real shitty.I figuered a carb was slightly gummed up
so after it warmed up I reved it a bit a dog food shot 40 feet out the pipe and hit
the far door, must have been 3 cups of the stuff in there.Ran a lot better after that
with the exhaust freed up.Good thing no one was standing behind it.
