how much time for h/c.
about how much time does it take for a h/c swap on a 99 ls1. I will also be replacing oil pump and lifters and timing chain. Can some one give me a rough estimate on the time it takes. I have all the tools that have been recomended and my heads are already assembled. Is it possible to completley dissasemble in 8-10 hrs?

what took me the longest was cleaning out the head bolt holes. just a tip i used a drinking straw with the flexible end to suck the coolant out of the holes instead of using rolled up paper towels to absorb all of the fluid and then i just had to run the towel in one time per hole at the end to make sure i got everything instead of putting it in there 10-15 times per hole.

it took me and friend 18 hours, but taking your time and cleaning all surfaces is the important thing...you cant spend too much time cleaning and prepping, and double check every bolt and use jimx's site

Yes...
Its just time consuming thats all. There is nothing really challenging about the swap. Just take your time and be very very careful all while double checking everything. Its really easy to forget something really obvious cause you are doing so much at once.

of course it's possibe...just do lots of research in advance...Read www.ls1howto.com , and all the cam/heads install problems that people encountered in this section.
I was on this website for 2 yrs - reading people's experiences, problems and their solutions.... That made my cam swap go like a cake-walk
