.030 milled zo6 heads?
i got a pair of zo6 off of ebay ( big mistake)last year while deployed in afghanistan. when i got back 4 months later to pick them up from a friend there where gouges around one of the water passages (he swears they were there) but nonetheless i wanted to know any recomendations as far as milling them .030. will intake manifold seat tolerances be affected, valve clearance, i got a tr 224/224 112 cam, and any experiece on pusrod lenghts? any info would be really appreciated. thank you.

I'm not gonna comment on the pushrod lenth, as there's alot of different opinions on that, but as for milling the heads that much, you can do that. WHen you go to reassemble the engine, just take a cutoff wheel, and grind the metal tabs on the intake down ( assuming you are using an ls6 intake ) so that they will not hit the head and cause the intake to sit up too high to seal properly.

It all depends on who you talk to, some people will tell you to shorter ones are needed, then you will get the smaller base circle on the cam lobe deal, so you have to factor that in, etc.etc. Personally, I have milled 243 castings on my car, and I am running stock lenth 7.4 pushrods, and have no problems. I had no problems running them when the car had just the cam in it, and I have no problems now with milled heads either. Talk to different people, and everyone will give you a different opinion.
