Default Big cams w/patriot heads no fly cutting?

Anyone know what kind of cam specs will clear with these heads? I have a set of Patriot ls6 style heads with 64cc chambers, and 2.055 1.60 valves. No milling, and factory mls head gaskets.

I had a chance to get a custom 235 240 600 609 on a 111.5+2, but was told by TSP that it wouldn't clear because of the valve sizes. Anyone know how close to that I can get without p/v clearance problems? I don't want to have to remove the heads to clay or fly cut.

Hi not sure if this helps, running 244/248-609/615 on the same heads with a 0.22 decked iron block. though I am using pistons with valve reliefs.

Its probably pretty close, but your valves are only .055 bigger diameter. That equals .028 bigger radius. At 15*, that only puts the valve .007 closer to the piston, assuming that the valve seats were cut down to place the valve at stock height.

So, do you think maybe the TSP 235 240 598 603 112 might work? I'm running the CheaTR right now. 215 230 601 579 117.5. I'm not sure how much the duration has to do with p/v clearance. I'm a little new to this. I like the CheaTR, but I want something that will take better advantage of these heads. When they said the 600 609 wouldn't clear I assumed they were talking about the 609. That's exhaust right? I would think the 600 intake would clear since I have 601 now, unless the duration or the overlap are going to affect it. Thanks for the help. I'm lost.

Max Lift has nothing to do with P to V clearance, since the valve is almost closed when P to V is closest, and therefore not on the nose of teh cam lobe. Overall duration and valve events play a bigger role in determining clearance, however theres no accurate way to calculate it, you need to measure to be certain.

So I need to measure the p/v with the cam I have? How am I going to relate that to a bigger cam? I'm going to have to buy a cam, pull the heads, measure the p/v, and hope it works? I think I will see what cams others are running with the same cyl heads. I really don't want to pull the heads back off. I'm sure there are plenty of people running these heads, that I can get an idea from. I appreciate your help though. I'm learning, I think. This is starting to be more trouble than it's worth.
