as far as inexpensive and powerful, i know there are several brands out there, but the cnc ported ls6's seem to be a very popular choice. i got mine from texas speed. with this setup, you should hit 400 with a locked converter

What do you mean by inexpensive? I am getting the stage 1 ls6 heads with the spring upgrade. Thats about 1249.00 I have heard good things about the PRC LS6 heads. Now there is a PRC 200cc "terminator" set that just killer now. They are like 1899. Just depends on your price range.

We have a stock CNC ported head that costs $999 exchange and seems to be making as much or more power then a lot of the CNC ported LS6 heads, especially more torque. I think this is because our head has a 225cc intake port volume and some of the CNC ported LS6 heads are 240cc+

We tested these heads on a engine dyno and they did fantastic. Here is a thread on some of the dyno results. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...t=Brian+Tooley

I would look into the Dart 205s. Mill them to 59cc and run a .040 gasket and you should be golden. You could also check out the TEA LS1 heads than Brian mentioned. The 225 intake runner will help your torque curve much more than the 240 intake runner on the CNC LS6s.

However, I would seriously debate the amount that you want to spend on heads. I think there is a lot more power to be had out of the extra cost of a set of AFR 205 heads. It is more money but in the long run I believe you will be much happier.
