Default Stroke my motor for a turbo?

I was wondering if the lutani 383 stroker kit with the forged pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft would go well with a F.I. setup? If not, what would u recommend for a 700-900 rwhp turbo setup? Also, keep it 346 or stroke it? This will be along with AFR heads and a custom grinded turbo cam... Thanks for the help

Keep it a 346. Buy new pistons and the 72cc AFR's and call it a day. Any gains from strokin it are far out weighed by the cost, That is an expensive kit!!!!Hope this helps.

Unless you really have a wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket I would stay with stock cubes. Being your only shooting for 700-900hp I would stay with the stock crank and just put a good set of rods and pistons in it and call it day.

Don't know about that. The piece of mind of having a forged crank and almost 40 extra cubic inches for an Eagle you can buy for @ $900 would be worth it to me.

I had understood he was talking about the lunati kit, It runs around $4g's. The eagle kit is much more reasonable.

Oh, yeah. I wouldn't pay for the Lunati kit.

Hey, sorry it has taken so long to respond. So why is the lutani kit so expensive compared to the eagle setup? I definetly want to get a forged crank just for safety of mind. Do you all recommend that I just keep it at 346 cu in? What will the extra 40 or so inches really do for me? Thanks alot for ur input, it really helps.

I would get the LS2 shortblock forged. If money is not an issue.

Why get the ls2 shortblock? And how much would that run me? What are the differences between an ls2 and an ls1?

6.0 Aluminum vs. 5.7 Aluminum. You can get just the block and a 6.0l stock crank w/ forged rods and pistons. sell your current stuff and that should help pay for it. They are not too much cost-wise.

oh riiiight... lol ls2's are in the 05-06 GTO's right? I think ill just keep the LS1 just cause i love em so much and i dont want to put the extra money into swapping blocks. Ill just forge internals, get AFR heads and a custom grinded cam. Should i replace rockers, valve springs, rods, lifters, etc? or just keep all of it stock?

Rockers - I would look into having the stockers rebuilt by Harland Sharp
Valve Springs - Definitely. Look at the Patriot Performance "gold" springs or Comp 921's
Rods - your talking about forged internals so this is a given, no?
Lifters - might as well while you have it all apart

Don't forget about ARP hardware throughout

i didnt think pushrods were the same as connecting rods? Am i mistaken? I am gonna feel real dumb if they are the same thing. Why have the stockers rebuilt? Why not get new stockers? Or why not get a different spec of rockers? I think i have heard that the stock rockers are good enough tho come to think of it.

A longer stroke will spool the turbo faster, in general. I'd say go for it.

They are 2 totally different things. Don't feel dumb.
Having the Harland/Nasty touch on your stock rockers will make them the best bang for the buck.

Ok how would I get the stockers rebuilt. Who is Harland Sharp? And will getting longer push rods create a longer stroke or longer connecting rods?

neither of those will make a longer stroke. you need a crankshaft with longer throws

ok, well now im torn between gettin a 402 aluminum block, or stroking to a 383, or just keeping the stock 346... ugh, anyone have any ideas on the pricing of building a 402 aluminum block built for a big *** turbo?
