Default Question about rocker arms

Was wondering if theres a way to tell if you can use 1.8 rockers without pulling your heads and claying the pistons.I have a 408 with 22cc dish pistons and stock valved heads with a 581-581 lift cam.I would think there would be plenty of room but not sure.

You don't need to clay the heads, use the measurement technique with checking springs and a dial indicator. Its more accurate as well. This will establish your PV.

Yeah, just use two checker springs and a dial indicator on the retainer. Rotate the engine from 10* BTDC to 10* ATDC and check every degree or two.

is that cam on xer lobes=say a 224/224 ? alot of people don't like to use 1.8 rockers on xer lobes because of the aggressive ramp rates but clearance wise i wouldn't think you would have clearance problems with even a monster cam.
