Default ported stock ls1 heads

i'm looking to do a h/c setup sometime in the near future, nothing crazy just want to get some more power out of her. i was thinking a 224/224 cam, and was considering keeping my stock heads and getting them ported and polished. is this worth the money, or should i just go the extra mile for a new set of heads?

i have ported stock heads on my car and with all my mods im dynoing at least 35hp less than other guys with the same mods as me.
nowadays it makes more sense to buy a set of patriot performance heads than port your stock ones. the price difference is very narrow and the performance difference is huge.

by the way i plan on buying the dart ls1 heads i just havent decided on which ones yet.

You might want to plan on spraying that car with the 3.73 gears. I know on motor my car bogs leaving at 5500 hundred on 17' et street radials with the 3.89s. Most guys on here that run all motor have 4:11s, 4:30s, or 4:56's.
