Default Comp. ratio and head questions

i have a 98 Z28 M6 and will be looking to do a H/C/I swap in the near future. i want to stay with my stock heads but want to have them worked. I also want to still make it streetable. so what is the best comp ratio to go with and still be on pump gas. also can i get this number with my stock heads planed down and not screw with the pistons?

It all depends on the size of the cam you wish to run. On average 11.0>11.2:1 is what LS1 motors seem to like on pump fuel.

If you go to 10.5 SCR then 228/232, .588/.595 110+2

10.5 is stock, so should i just pull the heads and have them worked over? should i put bigger valves in them? obviously ill need longer pushrods, and new lifters, can i use the stock rockers or should i step up to 1.75's or 1.8's? should i port the heads? will my stock intake be sufficient or should i upgrade that as well. also i have a 98 so will my bottom end be strong enough?

On a ls6 10.5 is stock. on a ls1 10.2 is stock.

Stay with stock rocker arm's though. You may lose power from valve float with the aftermarket rockers.

The cam that predator-z speced out will work but so will something like a f13. My heads are factory ls1 241 casstings with very little porting but bigger valves and only milled .015 with stock gaskets . should be around 10.5.

I would mill about .015-.020 but use a thinner gasket to get the quinch in the .032-.039 range. go with a .041 gasket
