Default stock motor tapping

Hey all, my motor has picked up a tap that shows up after ive been driving for a while (especially stop and go). the tapping starts at idle but gets louder with revs. I first noticed it when i over revved it once at an auto cross for a half second, but i let it cool down and it was fine that day. it hasnt really been getting worse but im wondering if i could have a lifter problem? my car has always run kind of weak. its a2000 z28 with nearly 100k on it. the only mods are full exhaust and an slp lid. any ideas?

I dunno, mine shows up as i drive it, it doesnt go away with time unless it cools down. i have replaced the plugs and wires, the pcv, and the front o2s.

i had the same problem after a missed shift at the drag strip, bent a push rod real bad, I'd take them all out and check them, fairly easy to do and if nothing else helps you along with the process of elimination.
