Well.. what gets accomplished depends on how many are interested... im getting the vibe that more people are waiting to see the holley piece come out.. and i can't blame them, im dying to see the hooker headers myself. This is kinda of like the whole incon thing, except I dont need money up front. I get 50 or 75 orders, then its worth chasing. If not, oh well. The whole goal for this post was to get some of the hardcore techies to go "well, we have xx.x" runner length now, us big cid guys need a xx.x" runner length, plus this much plenum volume, etc."

Well I'm no hardcore techie but the LS1 runner length is 15" and the intake flows about 900cfm@1.5 inchs Hg. The plenium of the LS6 is bigger, but I dont have the numbers right here with me. IIRC the LS6 intake stalls out at 14mm of lift while the LS1 does at like 10 or 11.

Colonel you need those old school organ pipes sticking out of your hood. Find 8 small mafs, calibrate, daisy chain, program the computer to recognize that, and rock and roll.

I'd love to get a carbon fiber or plastic part made up.

I have some pretty decent access to parts prototype stuff, plus CAD/CATIA. What would be great would be to get a SLA part made for fitment testing but I know that would not fly here. To SLA a part like that would take over 24 hours.

I was considering doing this a while ago with a friend who is a skilled sheetmetal worker / welder. We've both been busy with personal stuff to do, and we put it on the back burner.

Jason and McRat, if you guys can spec it out, and make a blueprint, that would be half the battle. With winter coming, I've been looking for something interesting to do. With the right specs, we could fabricate a prototype, but we'll need a car to test it on. (My T/A isn't modded enough) We've got access to all the equiptment we would need to built it.

Let me know what you guys think.

Later,
Rich

I just sent someone at work pics of some of te LS1 intakes and asked him what it would take to make one.

He's our flow guy, works on Nascar Truck and used to own the worlds fastest 4 liter. It was a mini-rail, 650hp, NA, 4 liter stock Jeep block, 8.60's @ 165mph.

If anyone can make one this guy can can certainly help us out.

Lets see what happens
