Okay, all of you with exhaust stock/aftermarket...
I figured it would be nice for new comers to not have to do a search for "What a hooker exhaust is like" or borla, etc. So we'll make this for easy reference. Even if you don't have a muffler post what it's like, and if you have sounds clips post links to those also. Hopefully this will eliminate the need for excessive exhaust threads.
Muffler/No (If you have one what is it?):
How was the install?:
What's in sound like to YOU?:
Rasp?:
And what else is in the exhaust setup (headers, etc)?:

My exhaust is screaming...no joke...one of my very good friend has the identical set up and we pass each other to see how loud it is...because you can't really tell from inside the car...
It gets the ears hurting and tingling...where you know your eardrum just took an A$$ kicking...
But I love it...
FLP Longtube Headers to FLP off road pipes...then through the Loudmouth...

SLP dual/dual through FLP's with offroad pipes. Car basically sounds stock when its all capped up. The dual dual is nice cuz when your cruising its quiet but when you jump on it, it has a nice WOT sound to it, thus giving it that kinda "sleeper appearence" which i like
Even with the cam, only someone who really knows what there looking for would be able to tell that the car is not stock, FYI
Install wasn't too bad, but the dual dual system is heavy!

Just A Corsa catback. The sound is hard to describe, the best I can come up with is super refined. It's a bit louder at idle than stock and it just screams at WOT. Looking through the muffler is seems like a straight through design.

I have LTs and no muffler. I do have cats on though. I get compliments all the time. I think the key was getting rid of that muffler.

Re: Okay, all of you with exhaust stock/aftermarket...
When I first put the 3.5" Mufflex with Flowmaster race muffler on it was DEEP sounding. Then I put the MAC headers and off road Y pipe on and it sounds a lot more like a race car. I wouldn't say its hellishly loud, its no where near cutout loud. It does "talk" pretty good once you get over ~4000 rpm. There is a rasp between 2100-2500.
If its idling where I park it (about 200 feet from my room) I can hear it inside. It would be too loud for some people, and at night sometimes I feel a touch guilty

Re: Okay, all of you with exhaust stock/aftermarket...
I have TTS long tubes, stock I-pipe and a Dynomax
ultra flow race welded oval muffler, 3" core, single exit on the left. Deep rumble, powerful idle but looks like a V6 from the rear (de-badged Z28 and white painted matching hardtop). No rasp.
Cut-out open is quite loud at mid-high rpms, lots of rasp, mean lumpy idle (hot cam).

The Corsa is great! Easy install. At idle or in 6th gear going down the highway it's slightly louder than stock. At WOT it's a beast! Not too raspy, refined. Low, full grumble. Great looking tips!

I third it. It's my favorite to daily driver.
...but the following sound really good too..
FLP's w/ORP with HotCam and open cut out
SLP's w/ORP with MMS 224v3 Cam and open cut out

I have the Borla, stock manifolds, stock y-pipe and cats. I run the smallest plate so as to eliminate the popping on deceleration. Small rasp around 2500 rpms but liveable IMO. Very aggressive sounding at lower rpms and screaming at higher. I had a local shop install it. Took less than an hour and cost about $80.

I have the B&B TriFlo, stock y-pipe and manifolds. It looks great, the sound is melow at idle, louder than stock though. It has a deep sound. No drone, no resonation, no popping. At WOT, it is pretty loud, but definately not obnoxious. To me it has a great overall sound. If you're looking for loud, this isnt it. I plan on FLP or TTS headers soon and am curious to hear the sound then.

I don't think that "popping" sound is a good thing and covering it up with just a smaller hole is good either? It sounds like your car is backfiring...let it warm up. Our cars run in close loop mode (it could be open) until they warm up then it switches. The backfire is because it's running rich to protect itself. Leave the borla wide open after it's warmed up.

Jacobi. My car doesn't backfire but a lot of guys running the Borla with no plate get it. I run the small plate to take away any chance of it.
