Camshaft choice dilema.
I had my mind made up on #1 and I even bought it....but then I found #2. Now I'm stuck as to whether I want to proceed with the install of #1 or get #2.
If you were me, what would it be, #1 or #2? How about with nitrous considerations up to a 200 shot?
Engine: M6, 402ci, FAST90/90, 1 3/4"LT's, great flowing highly ported LS6 heads
#1: Comp XER 238/240 .605/.609 112+2 DCR=8.82
#2: Comp XER 244/248 .613/.615 114+2 DCR= 8.40

Hey Jon,
I see you went with a FAST 90/90. How does it feel compared to your Weiand? IMO cam #1 would be a better choice for driveability. Wouldn't be all that bad with your ci. It seems like you are after more power than daily driveability with your combo so IMO cam #2 would be better a better choice, still have good decent driveability and would work better with the N2O. The bigger split on the exhaust duration would help out as well as the Lobe separation. Might want to think about stepping up to 1 7/8" headers and selling me yours.

Whoops! By mistake I switched the DCR calculation for the 2 cams. The cam I have has a DCR of 8.82 and that scares me just a bit. I know the work-arounds to run that cam that safely even during the summer months but at the same time, I could go with the larger #2 cam drop the DCR to a safer value and bump up the power output a bit too.
James,
The FAST is still in the box along with lots of other parts that I've been collecting for my much anticipated cam swap. As for the 1 7/8" headers, I'll probably end up going that way if I go with a bigger cam maybe #2 size or bigger. If I end up installing cam #1 then I'll just stay with the 1 3/4 inchers and look for something else to waste the money on . Areyou thinking about parting with the turbo or do you have another project you are working on?

Turbo has pretty much already been parted out. Went to a very good home. Someone I think will make good use of it. I'm still torn between two different setups:
1- Truck manifold twin turbo using (2) T-62's. Straight forward but expensive.
2- Custom mounted Procharger F1 using a C5 kit up high on the passenger head pullied way up for the most boost down low but limited up top to 10lbs (secret). They say it won't work on paper but I think it will. I'm leaning very heavily toward this one.
As far as the headers go, for a 346ci engine they are really only better for upper rpms but do show an improvement with very little loss down low. I'm almost positive there are a few 408ci guys on here that have switched to the 1 7/8" and gained a good amount everywhere throughout the curve. Also take a look at the MS4. I don't know the specs but the MS3 is close to your #1 choice at 237/242 same basic lift on a 113 LSA and is just plain nasty on the juice. Seriously though if your car is going to remain a street car and seldom see the track, Your already gonna have more power than you can put down on the street. Good luck and keep me informed.
